A banda começou em 1992 sob o nome de Suffering (com Hellaeon e Pahl Hodgson no line up. Eles fizeram um par de demos e jogou shows com Cannibal Corpse e Deicide antes de mudar o nome para Beyond Mortal Dreams, em 1995. Em seguida, a banda se separou -se e Hellaeon e Pahl juntou Oni, antes de reformar BMD em 2003.
 The band started in 1992 under the name of Suffering (with Hellaeon and Pahl Hodgson in the line up. They made a couple of demos and played gigs with Cannibal Corpse and Deicide before changing its name to Beyond Mortal Dreams, in 1995. Then, if the band broke up and Hellaeon and Pahl joined Oni, before reforming BMD in 2003.
